Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound mushrooms, cleaned and trimmed Use whole small mushrooms or halve medium ones for even cooking.
  • 1.5 tablespoons olive oil A light coat is all you need.
  • 3 to 4 cloves garlic, finely minced Keep garlic on the chunky side for toasting.
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce or Worcestershire Optional but adds flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice Adds brightness.
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme or parsley, chopped Can use other herbs as desired.
  • to taste Salt and black pepper Lightly salt for better browning.
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted Optional for a glossy finish.

Preparation

  • Preheat your air fryer to 380 F (190 C) for 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Clean the mushrooms by wiping them with a damp towel; avoid soaking. Trim ends and halve if large.
  • In a bowl, toss mushrooms with olive oil, garlic, soy sauce or Worcestershire, lemon juice, herbs, salt, and pepper.

Cooking

  • Spread mushrooms in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  • Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, shaking the basket once around the 5-minute mark. Thicker mushrooms may need an extra 2 to 4 minutes.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning. Toss with melted butter before serving for extra flavor.
  • Serve hot with a squeeze of lemon and more herbs.

Notes

For best results, dry mushrooms well before cooking and do not overdo oil. Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 350 F for 3 to 4 minutes.
