  • 4 pieces bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs Can substitute with boneless thighs, adjust cooking time.
  • 2 tablespoons butter Use real butter for better flavor.
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced Best for flavor; adjust for jarred minced garlic.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Adjust if using salted butter.
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika Smoked paprika adds a nice flavor.
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes Optional for added heat.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Optional; brightens flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped Optional; for garnish.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your air fryer to 380°F for 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Pat the chicken thighs dry and season them.

Seasoning

  • In a small bowl, mix salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. If desired, add chili flakes for heat.
  • Rub the seasoning blend over the thighs, especially the skin side.

Cooking

  • Place thighs skin side down in the air fryer and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Flip thighs skin side up and cook for an additional 10 to 14 minutes.
  • Total cooking time is approximately 20 to 24 minutes; check for doneness.

Garlic Butter Preparation

  • While the chicken cooks, melt butter and stir in minced garlic along with a pinch of salt and lemon juice.

Finishing Touch

  • When chicken is nearly done, brush garlic butter over the top and cook for 2 to 3 more minutes.

Serving

  • Let the thighs rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Keep chicken skin dry for the best crisp. Don’t crowd the basket to ensure even cooking. Reheat leftovers in the air fryer for best results.
