Ingredients
  

Donut Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour Measure carefully by spooning into the cup and leveling off.
  • 1 packet Instant yeast Makes the process easier.
  • 3/4 cup Warm milk Should feel comfortably warm, not hot.
  • 1/4 cup Sugar Plus one additional spoon for mixing.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 tablespoons Butter Melted or very soft.
  • Cooking spray Cooking spray or a little oil for brushing Helps with browning.

Glaze Ingredients

  • 1 cup Powdered sugar Base for the glaze.
  • 2-3 tablespoons Milk Add slowly until desired consistency.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • A pinch Salt

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a bowl, mix warm milk, a spoon of sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  • Add the egg, melted butter, the rest of the sugar, salt, and flour. Stir to form a shaggy dough, then knead for a few minutes until smooth.
  • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it, and let it rise until doubled, about 45 to 60 minutes.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about half an inch thick and cut into donut shapes.
  • Transfer donuts onto parchment paper squares (optional), cover lightly, and let puff for 15 to 20 minutes.

Cooking

  • Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and spray the basket lightly.
  • Air fry the donuts for about 4 to 6 minutes, flipping halfway if necessary. They should be light golden and springy.
  • Cool for a minute or two before glazing.

Glazing

  • In a bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, vanilla, and salt until smooth. Adjust the consistency as needed.
  • Dip each warm donut into the glaze, allowing excess to drip off, then set on a rack to set for about 10 minutes.

Notes

For best results, glaze while the donuts are warm. Do not overcrowd the air fryer, and measure flour carefully to avoid dryness.
