For the Burgers

  • 1 pound Ground beef (80/20) This blend is preferred for juiciness.
  • to taste Salt Generously season patties.
  • to taste Pepper Generously season patties.
  • 4 slices American cheese or cheddar Optional, for melting on the burgers.
  • 4 pieces Burger buns Soft buns toast up nicely.

Optional Toppings

  • to taste Pickles Your choice.
  • to taste Sliced onion Your choice.
  • to taste Lettuce Your choice.
  • to taste Tomato Your choice.

Optional Sauces

  • to taste Mayo For topping.
  • to taste Ketchup For topping.
  • to taste Mustard For topping.
  • to taste Burger sauce For topping.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (if your model preheats).
  • Divide the beef into balls, about 2 to 2.5 ounces each, without overworking the meat.
  • Place a ball on a small square of parchment, press down into a thin patty.
  • Season the top of the patty with salt and pepper generously.

Cooking

  • Carefully place the patties in the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook for about 3 minutes.
  • Flip the patties and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes depending on thickness.
  • Add cheese during the last minute, close the basket and let it melt.
  • Toast the buns in the air fryer for 1 to 2 minutes if desired.
  • Build your burger with desired toppings and enjoy!

Notes

Always cook ground beef to a safe internal temperature of 160°F. Avoid packing the meat too tightly to maintain juiciness and crispy edges. Work in batches if necessary to avoid steaming the burgers.
