  • 1 large egg For dipping; substitute with milk or vegan alternative if needed.
Breading Mixture
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Use preferred type.
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese The kind in the green can works.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Beat the egg in one bowl.
  2. In another bowl, mix breadcrumbs, parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Dip each tortellini in the egg mixture, then coat it with the breadcrumb mixture.
Cooking
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Spray the air fryer basket to avoid sticking.
  3. Place the coated tortellini in a single layer in the basket, making sure not to overcrowd.
  4. Spray the tops with a little cooking spray.
  5. Cook for 7-10 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.

Notes

Let refrigerated tortellini sit out for a few minutes before coating for better crisping. Experiment with spices in breadcrumbs for variety. Cook in batches to avoid uneven crisping.
