Ingredients
  

Cracker Mixture

  • 4 sleeves saltine crackers About 160 crackers
  • 1 cup neutral oil (canola or light olive oil)
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix About 1 ounce
  • 2 tablespoons crushed red pepper flakes Adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper Optional for extra heat
  • 1 teaspoon sugar Optional to balance the spice
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce Optional for savory depth

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Combine the oil, ranch mix, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne, sugar, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl or measuring cup. Whisk until smooth.
  • Add the crackers to a large zip-top bag. Pour the seasoned oil over the crackers.
  • Seal the bag, then gently rotate it so every cracker gets coated. Turn the bag every 10 minutes for 1 hour.
  • Refrigerate the bag for at least 4 hours, ideally overnight, turning the bag a few times if you can.

Baking (Optional)

  • Spread the crackers on two baking sheets and bake at 250°F for 15 to 20 minutes to help set the seasoning.
  • Cool completely before storing in an airtight container.

Notes

Best served with cooling dips like ranch dip or pimento cheese. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Freezing is possible but best enjoyed fresh.
