Ingredients
  

Vegetables

  • 1 bunch Fresh asparagus, medium thickness Choose medium thickness for best results.

Meat

  • 8 slices Bacon, regular cut Regular cut is easier to wrap than thick cut.

Condiments

  • 1 tbsp Olive oil or cooking spray Optional, for a light touch.
  • to taste Black pepper Salt is usually not needed due to the bacon.

Optional Flavors

  • 1 tsp Garlic powder For added flavor.
  • 1 tsp Smoked paprika For a smoky taste.
  • 1 tbsp Parmesan Add towards the end of baking.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400 F.
  • Rinse the asparagus and dry it well.
  • Snap or trim the woody ends of the asparagus spears.
  • Wrap each asparagus spear with bacon in a spiral, starting near the bottom and working upward.
  • Place on a foil-lined sheet pan, preferably with a rack.

Cooking

  • Bake for 18 to 25 minutes, flipping halfway through if not using a rack.
  • Broil for 1 to 2 minutes for extra crispness, watching closely to prevent burning.

Notes

Use medium-thick asparagus spears for best results. Make sure to dry the asparagus well to help the bacon crisp up. Avoid overcrowding the pan for optimal cooking.
