Ingredients
  

Salad Ingredients

  • 4 cups Fresh broccoli florets, chopped small Make sure to dry after washing.
  • 1 small Red onion, finely diced Dice small to prevent overpowering the salad.
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese or small cheese cubes
  • 1 cup Cooked bacon, chopped or bacon bits Can substitute with turkey bacon for a lighter version.
  • 1/2 cup Sunflower seeds or chopped almonds Optional for additional crunch.
  • 1/2 cup Dried cranberries or raisins Optional for added sweetness.

Dressing Ingredients

  • 1 cup Mayonnaise Can substitute half with Greek yogurt.
  • 2 tablespoons Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Honey or sugar Adjust to taste.
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper Freshly ground preferred.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, honey (or sugar), salt, and black pepper to create the dressing.
  • In a large bowl, add the chopped broccoli, diced red onion, shredded cheese, chopped bacon, and sunflower seeds.
  • Pour the dressing over the salad and mix well until everything is evenly coated.

Chilling

  • Let the salad chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  • If serving later, store in an airtight container in the fridge.

Notes

For optimal flavor, allow the salad to chill. Stir in any additional mayo or yogurt to refresh if it looks dry. To keep nuts crunchy, add them just before serving.
