Slaw Ingredients

  • 1 bag broccoli slaw mix Usually shredded broccoli stems with carrots and red cabbage.
  • 1 cup shredded purple cabbage Optional, for more color.
  • 4 green onions green onions, chopped Adds a little bite.
  • 1 cup dried cranberries or raisins For a sweet pop.
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds or sunflower seeds For crunch.

Dressing Ingredients

  • 1 cup mayonnaise Can substitute with Greek yogurt for a lighter option.
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar Can substitute with lemon juice.
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup For sweetness.
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard Adds depth of flavor.
  • 1/2 tsp salt To taste.
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper To taste.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Dump the broccoli slaw mix into a big bowl.
  • Add the green onions, dried cranberries, and sliced almonds.
  • In a small bowl, stir together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, honey, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper.
  • Pour the dressing over the slaw and toss well until combined.
  • Taste and add a pinch more salt or a drizzle of honey if necessary.

Notes

For best crunch, keep the dressing separate until serving, especially if prepared in advance. This slaw can be made a day ahead and will still be tasty but slightly softer.
