  • 9 cups Rice Chex cereal (or Corn Chex if that is what you have)
  • 1 cup Chocolate chips (semi-sweet is usual)
  • 1 cup Creamy peanut butter Use creamy for smooth coating
  • 1/2 cup Butter Melted
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 cups Powdered sugar Extra recommended for coating
  • 4 fun size bars Butterfinger candy Crushed
  • a pinch Salt If your peanut butter is unsalted

Preparation

  • Pour your cereal into a really big bowl.
  • In a microwave safe bowl, add chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter. Microwave in short bursts and stir each time until smooth.
  • Stir in vanilla and immediately pour the chocolate mixture over the cereal. Gently fold until most pieces are coated.
  • Transfer the coated cereal to a zip-top bag or a container with a tight lid. Add powdered sugar, seal, and shake until coated.
  • Spread it out on parchment or a baking sheet to cool. While slightly tacky, sprinkle on crushed Butterfinger and lightly toss.

Notes

Store in an airtight container to maintain crunchiness. This recipe is forgiving; customize with variations as desired.
