  • 1 box cake mix (15.25 oz, yellow preferred) Use yellow cake mix for classic flavor.
  • 0.5 cup peanut butter Creamy is easiest, but crunchy works too.
  • 2 large eggs
  • 0.333 cup oil (vegetable or canola) Melted butter can be used for richer flavor.

Optional Add-Ins

  • 0.5 cup chocolate chips or chopped peanuts Optional for added flavor.
  • granulated sugar for rolling Optional for rolling the cookie dough.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, mix together the cake mix, peanut butter, eggs, and oil until a thick dough forms.
  • Scoop the dough into balls.
  • If desired, roll the dough balls in granulated sugar.
  • Press the dough balls with a fork to create a crisscross pattern.

Baking

  • Place the cookies on a baking sheet and bake for 9 to 11 minutes.
  • Let the cookies sit on the baking sheet for 3 to 5 minutes to set before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

These cookies can be customized with different cake mixes or add-ins. They store well in an airtight container for 3 to 4 days at room temperature, and can be frozen for later enjoyment.
