  • 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips Use dark chocolate chips for a less sweet version.
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz) This is the base of the fudge.
  • 2 tablespoons butter Adds creaminess.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances flavor.
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts Toast for extra flavor, if desired.
  • 1 pinch salt Optional, enhances chocolate flavor.

Preparation

  • Line a pan with parchment paper, leaving extra hanging over the sides for easy removal.
  • In a saucepan, combine semi-sweet chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter. Heat on low, stirring until smooth.
  • Once melted, remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and chopped walnuts.
  • Spread the mixture into the lined pan and tap the pan on the counter to settle.
  • Let it cool at room temperature, then chill in the refrigerator until firm.
  • Once firm, slice into squares and serve.

Notes

Fudge is better after it sits for a bit as flavors meld. Store in an airtight container. Optionally served with coffee, ice cream, or fresh berries. Can be frozen for longer storage.
