Ingredients
  

Meat and Cheese
  • 1 lb Ground beef or sausage Can substitute with meat of choice.
  • 3 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese Use cheap shredded cheese if preferred.
  • 5 oz Pepperoni Use whatever brand is on sale.
Pasta and Sauce
  • 3 cups Spiral pasta (rotini, elbow, penne, etc.) Any pasta type works.
  • 24 oz Pizza sauce or jarred marinara Pick based on family preference.
Vegetables (optional)
  • 1 cup Chopped bell peppers Add more veggies if desired.
  • 1 cup Chopped mushrooms A great addition for extra flavor.
  • 1 cup Chopped spinach Can be added for a healthy twist.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Brown the ground meat in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked.
  2. In the slow cooker, layer the cooked meat, spiral pasta, pizza sauce, pepperoni, and any additional vegetables.
Cooking
  1. Cook on low for about 4 hours or until the cheese is bubbly and the pasta is cooked to your liking.
  2. If desired, add an extra layer of cheese halfway through the cooking time.
Serving
  1. Let the casserole sit for 10 minutes before serving to thicken.
  2. Serve hot, optionally topped with fresh herbs like basil.

Notes

For easier cleanup, line your slow cooker with parchment paper. You can freeze leftovers in single-serve portions or double the recipe for meal prep. Great served with garlic bread or a crunchy salad.
