  • 1 jar Salsa Verde (16 oz) Any favorite brand or budget-friendly option works.
  • 1 pack taco seasoning Choice of mild or spicy.

  • 1 handful chopped cilantro Optional for garnish.
  • squeeze of lime Optional for extra flavor.
  • 1/2 chopped onion Optional for added flavor.
  • 1 clove garlic Optional for added flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Layer the chicken breasts at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Pour the jar of salsa verde over the chicken, ensuring it covers all pieces.
  3. Sprinkle the taco seasoning over the top.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 7 hours, or on high for about 3 hours.
  2. Once cooked, shred the chicken with a fork.
  3. For extra flavor, squeeze in lime juice or stir in chopped cilantro just before serving.

Notes

Do not use frozen chicken directly; thaw first for best results. For a thicker sauce, remove the lid for the last 30 minutes of cooking. For added spice, include jalapeno or chili flakes.
