- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the diced onion and cook until soft.
- Stir in minced garlic.
- If using, add mushrooms and cook until they shrink.
- Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir to prevent lumps.
- Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, bringing it to a simmer until thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in sour cream.
- Serve over cooked egg noodles.
Notes
Reserve some pasta water if the sauce feels too thick. Taste as you go to adjust seasoning.
