  • 3 ounces cream cheese Softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar Helps stabilize the egg whites

  • 2 tablespoons finely grated parmesan For cheesy version

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  • Separate the egg whites and yolks into two clean, dry bowls.
  • In the bowl with egg whites, add cream of tartar and whip until stiff peaks form.
  • In the bowl with egg yolks, blend in softened cream cheese and salt until smooth.
  • Gently fold the egg whites into the yolk mixture in three parts, being careful not to deflate the batter.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly spray it with oil.
  • Spoon the batter onto the prepared sheet, forming 6 to 8 mounds.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes, or until the rolls are light golden on the edges.
  • Cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

These rolls can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen with parchment between layers for longer storage. To reheat, place in the oven at 300°F for 5 to 7 minutes.
