Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup peeled and split red lentils Make sure they are soaked for at least 3 hours.
  • 1 cup water Warm water can speed up the soaking process.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste.
Optional Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Can be added for a fluffier texture.
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder Optional for additional rise.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Soak the peeled and split red lentils in warm water for at least 3 hours.
  2. After soaking, drain the lentils and place them in a blender with the water and salt.
  3. Blend until you achieve a smooth batter.
Baking
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
  3. Optional: add olive oil or baking powder to the batter before pouring.
  4. Bake for 40 minutes, or until the top is firm and a toothpick comes out clean.
Cooling
  1. Remove from the oven and let cool fully in the pan before slicing.
  2. Using parchment paper may help prevent sticking.

Notes

Let it cool completely before slicing for neat pieces. This bread can be frozen in individual slices for convenient meals. Consider adding flavor boosters like garlic powder, cumin, or chopped herbs.
