Ingredients

Pasta and Shrimp
  • 12 ounces linguine pasta
  • 1 pound raw shrimp, peeled and deveined medium size preferred
Flavoring Ingredients
  • 3–4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes (optional) adds heat
  • 0.5 whole lemon, zest and juice
  • to taste salt and black pepper
  • a handful chopped parsley (optional)
  • to taste grated Parmesan for serving

Method

Preparation
  1. Boil water in a large pot for the linguine, adding a pinch of salt.
  2. Heat olive oil in a wide pan over medium heat.
  3. Add minced garlic to the pan and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Cooking
  1. Add shrimp to the pan and cook until they turn pink, flipping once.
  2. Add the lemon juice and red pepper flakes, mixing well.
  3. Toss the cooked linguine into the pan with the shrimp, adding a splash of pasta water to create a silky sauce.
  4. Season to taste with salt and black pepper before serving.
Serving
  1. Plate the shrimp linguine and garnish with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan, if desired.

Notes

Timing is key; watch the shrimp as they can overcook quickly. Save some pasta water for a better sauce consistency. Fresh parsley enhances the dish, and lemon adds brightness.
