Ingredients
  

Crunchy Mix-ins

  • 3 cups Rice Chex
  • 3 cups Corn Chex
  • 2 cups Wheat Chex
  • 2 cups mini pretzels
  • 1 cup bagel chips or rye chips, broken into bite-size pieces
  • 1.5 cups mixed nuts or peanuts Skip for nut-free version, add extra pretzels or crunchy chickpeas.

Savory Butter Sauce

  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons seasoned salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons hot sauce or a pinch of cayenne Optional.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Melt the butter in a saucepan and whisk in Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
  • Add hot sauce or cayenne if desired.
  • In a slow cooker, combine Rice Chex, Corn Chex, Wheat Chex, mini pretzels, bagel chips or rye chips, and mixed nuts.
  • Drizzle the butter sauce slowly over the mix, stirring gently to coat.

Cooking

  • Set the slow cooker to Low for 2 to 2.5 hours, stirring every 30 minutes.
  • Vent the lid slightly to allow steam to escape.
  • After cooking, spread the mix in a single layer on two baking sheets to cool completely.

Notes

Store in an airtight container or zip bag for up to 2 weeks. For longer storage, freeze in bags for up to 2 months. Thaw uncovered to keep it crisp.
