Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 each fully cooked ham, about 6 to 8 pounds Spiral sliced is easiest.
  • 1 cup peach preserves or peach jam
  • 1 can sliced peaches, drained Save a couple spoonfuls of juice if you want a thinner glaze.
  • 2-3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard Optional, but balances sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1-2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper

Instructions

Preparation

  • Spray your slow cooker lightly or line it for easy cleanup.
  • Place the ham in the slow cooker, cut side down if it has a flat side.
  • In a bowl, stir together peach preserves, brown sugar, Dijon, garlic powder, vinegar or lemon juice, and a pinch of pepper. If it feels super thick, add a spoonful or two of peach juice from the can.
  • Spoon about half the glaze over the ham, allowing it to drip into the slices and scatter a few peach slices around.

Cooking

  • Cover and cook on LOW for about 3 to 4 hours, aiming for about 140 F in the thickest part.
  • During the last 30 minutes, spoon the rest of the glaze over the top. Baste once or twice more for extra gloss, if desired.
  • Let the ham rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container with some glaze or cooking juices. Refrigerate within 2 hours and use within 3 to 4 days for best taste. You can freeze it tightly wrapped for best quality within 2 months.
