  • 4 cups frozen watermelon cubes Seedless is easiest.
  • 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice Bottled works in a pinch, but fresh tastes brighter.
  • 1/4 cup cold water Or sparkling water for a fun lift.
  • 1-3 tablespoons sugar or honey Sweeten to taste.
  • a pinch salt Enhances flavor.

Preparation

  • Add 4 cups frozen watermelon to a blender.
  • Pour in 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice.
  • Add 1/4 cup cold water to start. You can add more later.
  • Sweeten with 1 to 3 tablespoons sugar or honey, then add a tiny pinch of salt.
  • Blend until thick and slushy. Stop and stir if your blender struggles.
  • Taste and adjust. Add more lemon for tang or more sweetener if necessary.

Notes

For an extra frosty drink, chill your cups in the freezer for 10 minutes before serving. Adjust the sweetness based on the ripeness of the watermelon. You can add variations like frozen strawberries or a splash of coconut water for different flavors.
