Ingredients
  

For the Burger

  • 1 lb Ground beef (80/20 recommended) You can substitute with ground turkey or leaner beef.
  • 1 tsp Salt Do not under salt the beef.
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • 4 oz Cheddar cheese Can also use American or Pepper Jack.

Toppings

  • 2 cups Lettuce (Romaine or Iceberg) For crunch.
  • 1 cup Dill or bread and butter pickles Bread and butter should be low sugar.
  • 1 medium Tomato Optional.
  • 1 medium Onion Optional.
  • 4 slices Bacon Optional but recommended.

Special Sauce

  • 1/4 cup Mayo
  • 2 tbsp Sugar-free ketchup Check the label for sugar.
  • 1 tbsp Mustard
  • 2 tbsp Chopped pickles For tang.

Optional Extras

  • 1/2 cup Sliced jalapenos
  • 1 medium Avocado
  • 1/2 cup Sautéed mushrooms
  • 1 large Fried egg For breakfast option.

Instructions
 

Cooking the Burger

  • Heat a skillet on medium high until hot.
  • Form the ground beef into loose balls (3-4 ounces each).
  • Place the balls in the skillet and press down firmly for about 10 seconds. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • Cook for 2-3 minutes until the edges are brown and crispy. Flip and add cheese on top.

Assembling the Bowl

  • While the burgers cook, prepare your bowl with chopped lettuce, pickles, tomato, onion, and other toppings.
  • Add the hot, cheesy smash burger on top and drizzle with special sauce. Finish with bacon or extra pickles.

Notes

For storage, keep toppings separate from the warm meat to maintain crunch. Cooked patties can be stored in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
